LeadOn Staffing is hiring an experienced Machine Set-Up Operator for a recognized leader in custom flexible packaging solutions in Brampton.
This is a specialized manufacturing opportunity for someone with hands-on experience setting up, operating, and adjusting bag-making or pouch-making machinery.
Important: Previous hands-on experience and working knowledge of bag-making or pouch-making machinery setup, operation, and adjustments is mandatory for this position.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Machine Set-Up Operator, you will be responsible for preparing, adjusting, and monitoring production machinery to ensure efficient and consistent manufacturing.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting up bag-making and/or pouch-making machines according to production specifications
- Operating production machinery during manufacturing runs
- Making machine adjustments to maintain proper production performance
- Installing and changing machine attachments and components
- Loading rolls of film/material onto bag-making machines using a hoist
- Adjusting machine settings based on product specifications and production requirements
- Monitoring machine performance throughout production
- Identifying and troubleshooting basic machine and production issues
- Performing routine and minor maintenance on production equipment
- Checking finished products to ensure quality standards are maintained
- Reporting equipment, quality, or production issues when required
- Using hand tools and measuring equipment during setup and adjustments
- Following production procedures, safety policies, and quality requirements
- Keeping the production area clean, organized, and safe
Candidates must have hands-on experience with bag-making or pouch-making machinery. You should be able to demonstrate practical knowledge of:
- Bag-making machine setup
- Pouch-making machine setup
- Machine operation
- Machine adjustments and changeovers
- Installing machine attachments
- Film/roll loading and positioning
- Machine settings and production specifications
- Identifying basic machine performance issues
- Making adjustments to maintain product quality
- Using hand tools during machine setup
- Measuring and checking finished products
In addition to the mandatory bag/pouch-making machinery experience, successful candidates should have:
- Proven hands-on experience setting up and operating bag-making or pouch-making machinery
- Strong understanding of machine adjustments and production settings
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Previous experience in flexible packaging, converting, or similar manufacturing environments
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to understand and follow production specifications
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to work safely around moving machinery
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented work ethic
Rotating Shift Schedule
This position requires full flexibility across all three shifts.
2 Weeks – Morning: 7:00 AM – 3:15 PM
2 Weeks – Afternoon: 3:00 PM – 11:15 PM
2 Weeks – Night: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
The rotation then repeats.
Candidates must be comfortable working morning, afternoon, and overnight shifts.
Physical Requirements
This is a hands-on production-floor position requiring the ability to:
- Stand for extended periods
- Perform repetitive production tasks
- Lift up to 40 lbs independently
- Use hand tools and measuring equipment
- Work safely around operating machinery
- Load production rolls using appropriate lifting equipment
- Maintain concentration and attention to detail throughout the shift
You may regularly work with:
- Allen keys
- Hand tools
- Measuring tape
- Utility knife/knife tools
- Hoists and roll-handling equipment
- Bag-making and pouch-making machinery
- Production and packaging equipment
Safety is a core requirement of the role. Employees must follow all workplace safety procedures and wear the required PPE, including:
- Hair net
- Hearing protection/ear plugs
- Safety gloves
- Company uniform
- Safety boots
