Machine Set-Up Operator

Location: Rutherford Road South & Orenda Road, Brampton, ON

Pay rate: $24/hr - $24.57/hr

Working Hours: This position follows a rotating shift schedule: Rotation Shift Hours

• 2 Weeks Morning Shift 7:00 AM – 3:15 PM
• 2 Weeks Afternoon Shift 3:00 PM – 11:15 PM
• 2 Weeks Night Shift 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Machine Set-Up Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and adjusting production machines, installing machine attachments according to specifications, loading materials using lifting equipment, and performing basic equipment maintenance. This role requires mechanical aptitude, a strong commitment to workplace safety, and the ability to work rotating shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up production machines and make necessary adjustments for efficient operation.
• Install machine attachments according to production specifications.
• Load rolls onto bag-making machines using a hoist.
• Perform routine and minor maintenance on production equipment.
• Monitor machine performance and report any issues.
• Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout production.
• Follow all workplace safety policies and procedures.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs without assistance.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Previous manufacturing experience is considered an asset.
• Experience with conveyor or assembly equipment is an asset.
• Previous bag-making or packaging machine experience is an asset.

Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Employees are required to wear:

• Hair net
• Hearing protection (ear plugs)
• Safety gloves
• Company uniform
• Safety boots

Tools & Equipment Used

• Allen keys
• Hand tools
• Measuring tape
• Utility knife (knife tool)

Physical Requirements

• Stand for long periods.
• Lift up to 40 lbs independently.
• Perform repetitive tasks.
• Work safely around manufacturing equipment.
• Use hand tools and measuring equipment.
